It’s like a dream come true for me! I’ve loved and coveted Flamestitch handbags for quite some time, as you may already know from this article. They are lovely, perfectly-stitched, and have a great sense of humor. see here…
so it is my definite honor to have a Flamestitch trunk show at AmyD this Saturday, 6/13 from 4-7. Come and you will be pleased!
Another exciting thing is happening at ye olde shop! Heavens to Betsy is opening up next door! you may know Lisa Lorraine from GirlPie, but now she has her own fabulous clothing and accessories shop right next door to AmyD. Our grand opening party is from 6-9 ! Cupcakes! Balloon animals! Cool Clothes! Loads of fun to be had! all the shenanigans are happening at 211 E. Arcadia, Columbus Ohio
This weekend there are two super-happening craft fairs going on here in Columbus. Aren’t we lucky!
On Saturday, from 3-7 is KidzArtz! It’s at Junctionview studios in Grandview. Click on the link and you can get all the info. This is a fun one! There is entertainment, art, handmade vendors and it’s ALL KIDS. Kids make it and preform and it’s awesome!
Tennessee getting ready for KidzArtz
The boy is having a booth there. He makes up band names and then makes merchandise for those bands. This year, he’s also made a role playing game and some bracelets he will be selling. He’s hoping to make money for his school trip to D.C.
On Sunday, from 2:30 – 8 is the CTA Craftstravaganza. Another great one organized by Sweet Stella. This is at Columbus Torah Academy and has tons of my favorite vendors. I’ll be there, so stop by! I’ll have skirts, aprons, new cow bracelets and coffee sleeves! Click on the link for more info and directions.
I hope you can make it out to one of these fine events this weekend and support local small business and buy handmade!
Issues 7, 5, and 4 of Worn Fashion Journal
Oh, I’m so excited! Recently, I’ve fallen in love with Worn Fashion Journal. Never having been interested in “What’s hot!” kind of fashion reading, I’m not one to read Vogue or Cosmo or even W. The value of those magazines is understood, it’s just not what I’m interested in.
I like the history of fashion, the anthropology of it, and the fun! For me, clothes are fun, it’s a creative outlet. So back to Worn. It’s out of Toronto and only a few places sell it here. I love the articles and the photo spreads are incredibly odd and interesting. I just read an interview with Emily Martin, of The Black Apple in issue 5 that was great. And the Promenade article in Issue 7, the newest issue, will have you wishing we had our own Slow Dance Night here in Columbus. Honestly, I’ve been missing some of the zine sensibilities of yore, and Worn puts out!
So stop by the shop and, starting tomorrow, introduce yourself to Worn. Issues available at the shop right now are 4 through 7.
Here is the front of the new spot! 211 E. Arcadia, in Clintonville. I’m working up a sweat in this pic, moving stuff over. Thank you so much to Lizard and Trish for all the help! you can see, there are quite a few aprons to get you ready for the Apron Gala at North Market! It’s not until May, but it’s good to be ready.
The lovely Sharon will be here Saturday from 11-5, so stop by and see the new digs! There will be a christening party in the beginning of April, so watch here for details.
Thanks to all of you!
I like the idea of having something custom-made just for me. This vest was a request from a customer who likes the pink pleather pants I made
I love collaborating with my customers and am always happy to make something custom fit to them and their budgets. Usually, all custom work costs the same as the items in my shop. Stop by and get measured! It’s painless and I’ll make sure you look hot!
So, Valentine’s Day is Saturday. Don’t worry. I can help you out. Yes, it’s a silly holiday, with ridiculous expectations attached to it. But honestly, I love Valentine’s Day! I do! It’s fun to let someone know you care. You don’t have to offer a marriage proposal, but maybe a small token will help.
You can pick them up at the Free Lunch on Thursday for $5! or go old-school and get them online at my etsy shop or my online version of my real-life shop
